Bletchley Battle Day; 8 weeks today...

It's not less than 8 weeks to the SOA Zama Battle Day at Bletchley, and I've decided that I now don't have time to start any fresh miniatures, so the above casualties minis will be my last, which is a pity as I'd like to have a lot more.  I still need to finish and base 100 or so minis that Greg and Nick Speller* have painted, and make the boards.

*Nick has painted the Spanish and Scipio at the top of the frame; I've mounted them on temporary bases whilst I varnish them.  The final 2 dead nellies are on the right.

You're in the home stretch. Get all the 'must have' jobs done and then if you have any extra time you can do something extra.

The heavy Spanish look good!

Yes, Allan, my thinking too! Time to prioritise.

Where's the Scipio model from?

He's a Crusader republican general. The horse is a monster; it was sooo tall I resorted to sawing a 2mm slice out of its front legs, to shorten them. It is still bl00dy huge.

He looks a monster! Did they have shire horses in Roman times?

I hope you get it all done in time!

My Dad came to visit today and brought me my post (a couple of things from 1st Corps and a bill!) and we went to the Royal Armouries museum. Unfortunately, it's sparked an interest in many other time periods! Oops. My Dad's now trying to ressurect his 6mm ECW armies. More painting for me then...
