Pwodigy II; I predict a riot!

This is a second WIP shot of my Roman rioters.  I've added another 20 miniatures, some of whom are shown at the front, partially blocked in (a mixture of Aventine, a senator from Foundry and Steve Saleh's Caesar).  You might be able to make out some furniture at the back- I now have some promising ideas for base dressing.

I'm now planning to build 3 (or just possibly 4) units with a total of around 48 minis.  I'm trying to copy the style that Greg used (a big brush, and lots of Devlan Mud), this is proving very much quicker than my usual way of working.  And I now appreciate that ancients are a helluvalot quicker to paint than Naps!

Coming along nicely. Is that the GB trade and tribute set I see lurking at the back?

Cheers

Thanks chaps!

Hi Matt, yes well spotted! I've had that for 6 years, am glad to use it at last.

The wash on those figures at the back look great. Its how I paint my figures these days with a white basecoat and wash, so much quicker, with a reasonable result.

SW, that Greg is very good with the wash. He bought 20 bottles before GW changed the paints! I'm quite taking to it... will see how it works on the white base.

Cheers, Simon

My method :

white undercoat.
Paint all the minie with one coat.
Wash violently
repaint with same color on raised areas
one more highlight
one more highlight on the flesh and details (this bring a contrast with parts which only have one highligt.
