Pimp my Phalanx

Here's a quick update (clickable) photo of my first phalanx, which is now around 80% complete.  Newly painted minis are joining the 50-odd minis I already had painted; there's a lot of rebasing going on, too.   You can see a lot of shields part-painted at the front, and the final 24 part-painted minis at the rear.  I hope to have the unit finished by the end of next week.

That's one mighty looking bunch of pike fellows Simon and the size of the unit looks very realistic.

Hi Paul, I was chuffed seeing them, en-masse, after partial basing last night.

I have had to resist the impulse to add 2 more ranks as they would look better still, 8 deep. But I want to finish these and get on with the Egyptian phalanx which I think will look better still.

They look great. Good to see you're going for a large unit, looks really imposing with so many bristling Pikes.

Lookin' good! Funny how one can never have too many phalangites. Regards, Dean

Thanks chaps; I'm enjoying the pikes.

Chinese spammers are getting to be a real pain, recently, Greg. I have to delete one and report just about every time I post.

There s prolly a poor wargamer in China who loves your work and keep checking your miniatures from work. Too bad his work is about spamming blogs. I'm sure he feels sorry to do this but it s his only way to come check your place from his work... Oh, and nice spikes )

Hi Greg, I wouldn't mind his support if his other interest wasn't porn...
