Dead Nellie 2

This is the second dead elephant I've finished.  I'm currently also painting 2 Gripping Beast resin dead elephants with towers, in parallel, and some Celts I hope to have finished by tomorrow.

I like the pose of the second elephant - it looks like she took one of the enemy down with her!

If Rolf Harris saw all these poor old Nellies, the man would have a break down.

Seeing all your excellent work Simon makes me want to invest in some Heffalumps of my own.

Nice sculpt would be small boy with bucket following behind advancing beasties!

Cheers Paul

Very sad. He did not make the Elephant's graveyard.

Thanks chaps! What a way to go...

Paul, everyone needs a few elephants. Some of us need a herd!

That looks spot on!

FANTASTIC! I like this one, and the poor unfortunate Roman under him, even more than the first one.

Thanks Allan and ACJ. I still need to do a couple more... I'm thinking about ideas.

These are the sort of bases that make the battlefield look geat. Well done!

If you're looking for more dead Nellie ideas, I reckon a few dead Carthaginian mahouts wouldn't go amiss! Maybe one half trapped behind the head - with one leg over Nellie's shoulder dead cavalryman style? Don't forget the arrows! Plenty of arrows!

Mate, really nice dead elephant work.

Cheers,
Doc

Yes Doc, I was discussing that very concept with a mate yesterday. I have a few Cartho riders left over, may use one of those.
