Colours day 1

Had a very enjoyable day- met lots of people and lots of friends.  Unfortunately I was insanely busy and took barely any photos at all, only a couple on the phone.  However I will try to remedy this tomorrow. Below is my Thapsus game.

The second shot of the end of the first game, with Mark, Jean and Nigel.  Caesar lost this battle, but won the second of the day.  Both games lasted 2 hours +/- 5 mins.

Off to sleep; early start tomorrow!

Still looks great Simon, would very much like to have come along but Newbury is a bit far & work is still too busy. Any chance of bringing this demo further North?

Regards HGA.

HGA, I'm pretty sure I'll be at Partizan again in May, but not sure what with yet. Cheers,Simon

looking forward to the next set of pictures! It was very dark, though. Most of the lights weren't working!

Hi Simon, It was really nice to meet you at Colours today (or technically yesterday as it's now 2am!). Your game looked absolutely superb. I have spent some of this evening browsing Caesarian Roman period figures online because of it! :-) A tremendous amount of work clearly went into the superb display you put on. Best wishes, Jason (Light Bobs and Paint Blobs)

Thanks Jason! Was great meeting up. I've linked to your blog on my own horse and musket "My very own Spanish ulcer" blog, and will follow with interest!

Cheers, Simon

A pleasure to meet you at last, even if very briefly!

Look forward to seeing more of your lovely games at future shows.

Hi Matt! Was great to meet. The lack of nasal pencils did throw me for a minute... ;-)

Maybe see you at SELWG? Also planning something a bit special for Salute...

Simon,

What a fantastic game!!! I really enjoyed seeing it and photographing the armies. I wish I'd have known you were the orchestrator, I'd have definitely have hunted you out to say hello. Fantastic work, and those elephants were wonderful!

Sir Sid, I'm kicking myself, I really need to make a badge and get some business cards made up. Sorry I missed you! I'm glad you liked the elephants, though.

If you make it to SELWG, there is going to be a rather larger version of the battle with various bits that aren't yet finished. Perhaps see you there?
