4 cohorts down, bar flocking. So now, unfortunately, I have to start the next lot (below). :-( I don't mind painting the legionaries, but the signifers and cornicens are a pain.
On the plus side, when these are all finished, I'll have 28 cohorts and will be a gnat's whisker away from 3 legions-worth at 1:20.
Wow! My eight 15mm figures at a time seem paltry in comparison to this... Lovely work, sir!
ReplyDeleteGreate progress Simon !
ReplyDeleteBest regards Michael
28 cohorts!!!.3 legions!!!!
ReplyDeleteGroup photo called for :-D
Yes, Paul, good idea. When they are finished...
ReplyDeleteBlimey Simon, I've just started my first cohort and you bash out four in no time.
ReplyDeleteLooking very good though!
Cheers

Hi John, happily most of the minis in the top pic were painted or at least partially painted by others, with only around 20 painted from scratch by me. This is the only way I can churn them out like this!
ReplyDeleteCheers, Simon
Great looking figures and an impressive rate for completion.
ReplyDeleteCheers, Ross
Thanks all! Simon
ReplyDeleteDo you plan to leave the shields plain, or use transfers?
ReplyDeleteJim
Hi Jim, I usually leave Caesarian shields plain, as there is less (no?) evidence for designs. I like to use several different shades of red, though.

This is an awesome collection. Needless to say we all want to see a big picture of the completed Cohorts when your finished!
ReplyDeleteHi Lee, All being well they will be on the road in the Autumn, at Partizan, Colours and SELWG. I'm taking a game around the shows. Hope to run into you!
ReplyDeleteThat's a high volume of beautiful figures you're putting out there Lee. I'm quite jealous.
ReplyDeleteThanks Allan, but who is this Lee you speak of? ;-) Cheers, Simon (who prepped another 40 minis last might)
