Here's another WIP of Zurlauben, now with the new minis integrated and with the colours fitted. grouting tonight and off for flocking on Friday. Zurlauben was destroyed at Blenheim, where the Comte himself died, leading a cavalry command.
At a rough count I have 40 more mostly-painted battalions to finish and base, around six months work on the infantry, alone. Gulp.
Cheers Simon,
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting the WIP pictures re Zurlauben.
If this project turns out like others, I have no doubt that your legions of fans/followers will be pleased. Some with be filled with envy as well.
Apologies, but I am having trouble mustering the compassion with regard to you having to face a potential six months of "work" on a reported 40 battalions of mostly-painted battalions.
If you would like to make a trade for the next six months, let me know. I will need to start on my passport paperwork right away.
I will also need to make sure I listen to sufficient Pod Save the UK episodes so I will be informed.
So, your legions of fans/followers can expect to see finished pictures or maybe a video in March of 2025?
That sounds like a huge amaount!
ReplyDeleteVery nice looking unit!
ReplyDeleteI think I have played with these figures before, in their previous life! If you don't mind me asking, are they from a collection bought via Hinds Figures? I can see you are adding a second standard-bearer to the units and rebasing them. I am sure they will form very impressive armies when completed. For this period I think there are French and British/ Dutch armies if I remember rightly.
ReplyDeleteHi Simon. I remember playing with figures very much like these about twelve years ago! If you don't mind me asking, did you buy them via Hinds Figures? I think they once belonged to my late friend Mark Sturmey, who sadly passed away a few years ago. I gather his family have been moving his collections on, and it looks as though you are the lucky new owner. Good for you if that's the case. The hobby will benefit from them all being back in circulation.
ReplyDeleteVery fine looking Regiment!
