Whim writ large

Last year, I bought some Roman walls on eBay as a whim. I subsequently bought a load more from Dave Bodley at Grand Manner, who make excellent resin buildings, and chum Ian Notter has been filling the interior with Roman blocks. It'll be around 4' square, when complete. Hopefully we'll get it painted this summer, and on a gaming table in 2021.

A proper gateway! I have the gates, somewhere...

There are still a few more bits to come, but it already makes a statement.  :-)  Would make a good Bedriacum, perhaps.

Well, I mostly want to just look at it- but it does cry out for a siege supplement. It also occurs to me that it might work for early Renaissance, if I added some extra elements.

  11. Wow! That's going to look fantastic.

By the way, does anyone else recognise my three ages of wargaming:

    1. "If I had the money I'd love to build...".

    2. "Hey, I've got the money. Now if only I had the time, I'd love to build...".

    3. "Ooh, retirement isn 't that far away and there's a good chance I'll have the money and the time. Now if only I had the storage space I'd love to build...".
