I bought elements of a small Eureka/Irregular Assyrian army some years ago, and have recently revisited them, with a view to either completing the army and using it, or selling it on. I'll post a few shots over the next week , in between the pikemen.
These are the guards. I've replaced the standard with one from Foundry, and given them iron helmets with the characteristic bronze band. Oh, and I re-did the spearheads!
Very nice. The colours work really well and the shields are lovely sculpts.
ReplyDeleteGreate looking unit!
ReplyDeleteThey look splendid. Good sculpts and an excellent paint job.
ReplyDeleteAgreed, good, solid work!
ReplyDeleteThey look good.
ReplyDeleteWho else thinks the new captchas are fun?..they all have at least one word that´s a real one...the captcha asked here is "please iespru" What´s an iesPru?
They are certainly easier to use! The old ones could be impossible to read.
ReplyDeleteAmazing shields. These really look great!
ReplyDeleteVery nice! Great looking sculpts and painting. Best, dean
ReplyDeleteVery striking unit. Great shieldwork!
ReplyDeleteExcellent guard unit Simon! The Eureka Neo-Assyrians are a nice range.
ReplyDelete"Alright you maggots, I want to see those cohorts polished until they gleam! In purple AND gold!"
ReplyDelete"SIR YES SIR!!"
Very nice work there!
Thanks all! More in a few days time.
ReplyDeleteCheers, Simon
Beautiful work, Simon. I'm very fond of Assyrians (in miniature anyway), always wondered if they were far and away the most brutal civilization of their day or if they just documented it better.
