Just in case you thought I'd emigrated, I've finished the various warmachines and their bases , but not the crew and accessories which need around another week...
In other news; some very pretty miniatures just arrived from Aventine, mostly intended to join my Romans. And I did something madly impulsive on eBay this week, that I will probably be regretting in a day or so... Simon goes plastic!
Plastic??? Hmmm? I wonder, Warlord games??
ReplyDeleteVery nice looking artillery park mate.
Cheers

Paul, I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you. ;-) Simon
ReplyDeleteExcellent work. Love the basing. Regards, Dean
ReplyDeletesimon,
ReplyDeletelovely work, I am yet to finish my Roman Artillery for each of my Roman armies.
cheers
matt
Thanks Dean, they are pretty sophisticated; magnetic basing on the bottom, a layer of tinplate for strength and then the coffee stirrers.
ReplyDeleteI love how coffee stirrers are so... available. I find myself wondering how many coffee stirrers would be required to build a camp for 2 x 240 man legions. Or the Caesar's bridge over the Rhine...
Matt I'm yet to finish mine! I've lots more planned.
ReplyDeleteIncidently they are on planks, so I can put them into towers (except for the onagers which are too big).
Very nice!! Have you seen the Warlord Games artbox for their artillery set?
ReplyDeletePlastic?!! And you don't want to say the name... haha
Regards.
I also made some roman artillery stuff out of the zveda set it's just fine !!
ReplyDeleteCheers
