The final 18 new recruits (or Tirones) have arrived for the last 2 cohorts of my legion, and are spray primed and ready to go. I've almost finished the 8 command figures at the front; I estimate it'll take 2-3 weeks to finish the unit.
I have just remembered why I like to get others to paint my minis for me. ;-)
Nice to the see them in a sort of WIP shot. Someday I hope to get some EIR in segmented armor - try out the silver spray undercoat technique on them. Regards, Dean
ReplyDeleteThey are very good this lot, the set even has the tressaruis (what the plural is I can´t imagine, tressarii ? )
ReplyDeleteAs Dean has said, nice to them in WIP form.
Cheers
Paul
Hi Dean, Army Painter swear by the spray silver as a primer on the Warlord Games plastics, so it should work.
ReplyDeleteHi Paul, I think you mean the 2 Optiones at the front. They are simple conversions from Black Tree Praetorians.
ReplyDeleteThe Tesserarius was the rank below the Optio. I'm not sure if yer tesserarius looked any different to the standard legionary. Actually I don't even know whether the optiones should have crests; it is possible they may have had a pair of feathers in their helmets. But crests look good.
The tessearius probably was just a lazy sod who got away with it. *grin*
ReplyDeleteAnd I won't even contemplate painting minis, let alone do it. ;)
