Assyrian cavalry

Here are the cavalry from my small Assyrian force.  The miniatures above were professionally painted by Phil Riley of NyrOld, and the below are partly and eBay purchase, and partly by me.  Phil's are excellent, and the others aren't too shabby, either.  When time permits, I'll slap some decorative bands on the helmets, and some more tuftage and dust on the bases, so that they match my current standard.

The small army of which these form a part, is potentially for sale, please drop me a line at the address on the front page, if interested.

Nice figures and well painted and based. Looking forward to seeing this army grow. Best, Dean

Thanks Dean! I am itching to paint some more. In fact I am currently itching to paint anything, that doesn't carry a pike.

Lovely work. I particularly like the work on the stripes on the pants and the fantastic color selections.

Thanks chaps- they are quite special, especially the chariots, which I've not posted yet. I'd love to finish the army but I have so many other projects, more advanced...

Seems to be something wrong here, Simon. My source clearly states:

"And there lay the rider distorted and pale
With dew on his brow and rust on his mail"

I don't see distortion of form, excessive pallor, dew on brow or rust on mail any of these. I hope you haven't been relying on Ospreys!

But in all seriousness, those are lovely.

Cheers,
Aaron

Aaron, I really need to do a chariot in purple and gleaming gold...

Unusual to read the words 'Small force' on your blog as you tend to do things 'LARGE'. Lovely looking unit.
Cheers,
Pat.

Thanks Pat!

When I bought these, they were my largest army. Now I have some UNITS larger than this army. ;-)

Cheers, Simon
